Family Cyanotype Workshop
with Caitriona Dunnett
Have fun together experimenting with the cyanotype printing process, one of earliest forms of photography!
There will be a variety of materials on hand to explore colour, mark making and impressions. Each family will create their own set of unique Prussian blue prints to take home.
All materials will be provided and families are welcome to bring in small objects to work with.
About the Artist
Caitriona Dunnett investigates memory and its subjective, personal and forgotten narratives, specifically looking at nature and the Irish landscape, manifested through historical processes. She is intrigued by the traces people leave behind. The paths they weave through time and the legacies attached to them.
Using contemporary techniques, she converts digital photographs into contact negatives to create handcrafted prints. She builds on her prints layering them with different techniques. Achieving a range of hues and opening up a dialogue between photography, painting and etching. Dunnett is engaged by how this multi-layered process resonates with memory and all its subtleties.
Recent exhibitions included RUA RED Winter Open, Coventry Biennial, Spotlight Leamington Spa Gallery and Museum, ESPY Photography Award, Custom House Studios and Gallery, FOTOLIMO Festival and Impressions Biennial.
